Savi History

Paul Nair chose the word Savi, meaning health and well-being for his new concept of an urban market. In October of 2009, the original Savi Urban Market opened in Atlanta’s historical Inman Park neighborhood. Housed in a small building of red brick with a woodsy touch and fireplace, Mr. Nair recreated the old time feel of a local grocery store. Here the butcher, baker, and of course, the wine maker all know you by name. Inside is a world for the health conscious individual.

Savi has always offered fresh, locally grown organic vegetables, but with our new stores you can also choose from an international selection of packaged foods with a specialty section of low-fat and gluten-free products. However, the best Savi has to offer comes from the executive chef’s creations including hot, nutritious dinners for a relaxed evening at home, or a quick sandwich for lunch on the go. Perfect for all of your entertaining needs, Savi also has an extensive selection of wine, beer and spirits at affordable prices.

In October 2011, the popularity of the new concept convinced Mr. Nair to open a new store in the Atlanta neighborhood of Brookhaven. In the Brookhaven store, customers will find the same feeling of health and well-being, while being surrounded by a small, friendly community. In February 2013, Savi unveiled its newest generation of the Savi concept, Savi Provisions. Based on the same community-centered, farm-to-table concept made popular by the first Savi stores, Savi Provisions in Buckhead seeks to cater to the urban lifestyle, while also providing an expanded wine and spirit room, an extensive selection of craft beers and a dedicated tasting room.
